Joint Pain Treatment

Knee pain is a common complaint among athletes.  The popliteus muscle is a big player in a healthy functioning knee joint and is responsible for what is typically called the "locking" and "unlocking" of the knee.

In this video, Dr. Keith Lavender, D.C., a Board Certified Atlas Orthogonal upper cervical doctor and Certified Advanced Muscle Integration Technique (AMIT) practitioner is re-testing a young gymnast. Through an evaluation, he identified muscles that were not functioning properly and impacting her performance. The popliteus muscle was found to be aberrant or not working properly and after treating with the AMIT protocol, Dr. Lavender is re-testing for proper muscle function. Look at the difference!!

The brain and nervous system acts much like a circuit breaker does in your house. The central nervous system will “shut off” muscles to protect them from further damage. No amount of massage or exercise will strengthen the muscle until it has been “turned back on”.  In the previous video, you can see the testing before Dr. Lavender has used AMIT therapy on our athlete.
