Sports Therapy For Muscle and Joint Pain Relief

Sports Therapy For Muscle and Joint Pain Relief

Chronic pain in the muscles and joints can occur along with injury and inflammation when your muscles are not functioning properly. Repetitive motion, old sports injuries, trauma and falls can cause muscle dysfunction leading to pain.

CJ has been working diligently to restore his health and his physical abilities and now is celebrating the completion of his Advanced Muscle Integration Technique Sports Program with Dr. Keith Lavender, D.C.  Excited to be getting his life back on track, CJ talks about now being able to strengthen his muscles and improved range of motion as he works out. He is relieved to no longer have to deal with the chronic neck and back pain that he endured for so long. CJ says he is less stressed and his mind is clearer because it is so much easier to work and do the things he wants to be doing. His quality of life has improved.

Advanced Muscle Integration Technique or AMIT practitioners begin by testing individual muscles and muscle groups to identify and treat those that are unstable, not functioning properly, and causing pain and injury. AMIT is used with Olympic and professional athletes and has been proved to be an effective treatment for chronic pain, injury prevention, and acute injury recovery.

When the body experiences inflammation, injury or trauma, the Central Nervous System turns on pain receptors, shuts down muscles, and restricts motion.  The body may recruit other muscles to take over when it detects a muscle is stressed or overloaded, or to protect the area from further damage or tearing.

When these symptoms appear, suppressing or ignoring them sets the body up with chronic pain and future injuries.

Once inhibited muscles are identified, AMIT Sports Therapy consists of stimulating seven specific reflex points and adjusting specific points on the spine.  After treatment, the AMIT practitioner will re-test the muscles to determine that they have been re-activated and are strong.
