Muscle Pain Relief

When your muscles are not functioning properly, chronic pain, injury and inflammation often occur. Old injuries, years of playing sports, repetitive motion and trauma can all cause muscle dysfunction.

Advanced Muscle Integration Technique or AMIT  practitioners test individual muscles and muscle groups to identify and treat those that are unstable, not functioning properly, and causing pain and injury.  AMIT has been used on Olympic and professional athletes for years and has been proved to be an effective treatment for chronic pain, injury prevention, and acute injury recovery.

What causes muscle dysfunction?  When your body experiences inflammation, injury or trauma, it will turn on pain receptors, shut down muscles, and restrict motion.  Your body may recruit other muscles to take over when it detects a muscle is stressed or overloaded, or to protect the area from further damage or tearing.

The inactivated area typically will then ache and not work properly when this happens, and surrounding muscles will take on more responsibilities to compensate. This additional load may cause muscles to be tighter as they work harder to stabilize other areas that are weaker. For example, perpetually tight hamstrings may be working overtime due to inhibited quads.

When these symptoms appear, suppressing or ignoring them sets the body up with chronic pain and future injuries.

How does AMIT work?  AMIT practitioners examine over 700 muscles and test for proper functioning.  They specifically identify inhibited muscles and define body and joint movement patterns that are not stable and lead to injury and reduced performance.

Once inhibited muscles are identified, AMIT treatment consists of stimulating seven specific reflex points and then adjusting specific points on the spine.  After treatment, the AMIT practitioner will re-test the muscles to determine that they have been re-activated and are strong.
